i made my sister cry :(
by BlackWolf inso lately i've felt so frustrated and overwhelmed that i had to tell someone how i felt.
my parents were gone so i decided to talk to my sister.
we've always been close so i thought i could trust her because we have talked about it before.

Lay cool and pretend you never had that conversation with her. She sounds as if she would tell your parents under the slightest provocation. Don't bring up anything to anyone in your family until you're ready to move out on your own. -

One always has to keep in mind how a non JW would react to silliness in a video when the subject is a serious one. It's best to make these videos with a non-JW audience in mind.
Edit: JWfacts does have a better video

Serious question about the Australian RC and the WTBTS.
by DATA-DOG ini have not been in a position to watch all of the interviews, so i'm sure that i missed a few things.
here is my question.
were either elders or ministerial servants accused of sexually abusing children, or were the accused just lowly r&f publishers or bible studies?

That one listed circuit overseer is scary. They go from congregation to congregation. -

Don't know if it was intended to be comical but I didn't like the talking head thing. It would have been better as an audio with carefully selected still images showing assorted pictures from their literature. -

"As a matter of Conscience" - Sail Away.
by quincemyles ini am encouraged by sail away to take steps to officially distance myself from the tenets of the jws.
i can no longer bear the thought of my being associated with their policies.. i too will give them a letter this week to dissociate, while circumventing their shunning cruelty.. i will simply write:.
dear sirs,.

I agree with brandnew. Fading is the best option. Try a quick fade if the situation is unbearable. I regret not having done it and writing a letter that they perceived to be a challenge to their authority. -

Designer Stubble:
"So growth of the organization is not keeping up with the population growth."
In all fairness that might be because of immigration combined with a low birth rate amongst Australians. If immigrants have a proportionally low number of JWs then they're not replenishing their numbers through that type of increase.
But why would Witnesses not likely be immigrants? Because of the disproportionate amount of poverty in that religion. Poor people, who have no skills or anything to offer to the country, aren't likely to be accepted by picky Immigration officers.
There is also a disproportionate number of elderly people in the JWs and they're also not likely to be accepted as citizens due to their becoming a burden to the nation.
Canada might be a similar country in that respect. I heard that it's enormously difficult for anyone to immigrate there if they're over 40. Canadian officials also skew their immigrants based on whether their professionals or businessmen.

Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.
here is the link.

JW to SDA anyone do it ?
by Introvert 2 ina couple friends pointed me to some info on the sabbath and i just plain like it, being the workaholic i am it's a lifesaver for me and gives me the motivation to be more balanced about my business and work schedule.
so from there i looked into the adventists and found a hall near my place and went last week.
i honestly enjoyed myself and the meeting time is not disruptive and the people were great and pretty laid back.

"There are also evangelicals and liberal Adventists. The liberals may believe in Gay marriage, evolution etc."
It seems that almost every religion and denomination develops a spectrum of beliefs amongst their members ranging from strict conservatives (Bible thumpers) to liberals. Jehovah's Witnesses would appear to be the exception but that's because of their being totally controlled by their hierarchy.
